Time To Say Goodbye

Last days in Iten.

All packed and ready to go. What a trip. Came out hoping to get some running done, meet up and chat with some Stablemates, and check out things for the Arete Project. Ticked all those boxes and so much more…

Prior to coming out to Iten, I’d read so much about the place and watched all the videos but none of the information on the internet gets close to capturing this place. It’s truly awesome and inspiring. The blood-orange trails, the hills, the altitude (an absolute killer), the hundreds of runners shuffling about all-day long, the blistering speed of the lads down at Tambach Track, and the genuine friendliness of the people, all make this place special. This truly is the Mecca of distance running. If you’re into running, you really need to come and experience Iten.

I’ve managed to run most days but never really had the time to get in much running; it’s been non-stop since I arrived back in the middle of January. I’m actually looking forward to getting home and having a rest.

Over the next few weeks I’ll post more about the trip and where we are (and where we're going) with the Arete Scholarship Program.
